SUNDAY 15 SEPTEMBER at 2.30 PM
Venerable Geshe Doga, Resident Lama and teacher at Tara Institute, will give a special teaching to Tibetan Buddhist Society students, friends and supporters at 2.30 pm on Sunday 15 September.
A renowned Buddhist scholar and teacher, Geshe Doga has been teaching students in Australia for more than 35 years.
Geshe Doga was a long-time good friend of the Tibetan Buddhist Society’s founder, Venerable Geshe Acharya Thubten Loden, and has also provided continuous support to the Society.
This afternoon teaching presents an opportunity to learn from Geshe-la’s lifetime experience of meditation and Buddhist studies. There are now very few lamas living who, like Geshe Doga, received traditional instruction in Tibet’s great monastic universities.
Geshe-la has a wonderfully warm presence, and this afternoon teaching offers a rare chance to spend some time with such a highly-accomplished and treasured lama.
You can read Geshe Doga’s biography HERE.
The teaching will be held in our magnificent, peaceful Tibetan temple from 2.30pm to approximately 4 pm. No other classes on this day. Plenty of comfortable seating including chairs and cushions. If you would like to arrive a little earlier, from 1.30 pm, you are welcome to walk in the beautiful gardens.
A delicious afternoon tea will be served after the teaching – brewed coffee, teas, cakes and savoury items (also gluten-free options) – for those who’d like to stay. The facility charge is $10. Proceeds support the maintenance of the temple and gardens. Just come along – no need to register.
