THE FOUR IMMEASURABLES
with Michael Joseph
Onsite and online
A central practice
The four immeasurables are a central Buddhist practice for training the mind and for developing a good heart. They are found in the paths of both sutra and tantra. Tantric sadhanas commonly include this practice as a means for accumulating immeasurable merit. Good conditions and success in our practice are dependent on the accumulation of merit.
Love, compassion, joy and equanimity
The four are:
· Immeasurable love
· Immeasurable compassion
· Immeasurable joy
· Immeasurable equanimity
The day will include explanations of the immeasurables, what they mean, how they are practised, and then guided meditation. Note this retreat was originally scheduled for 20 July in our online calendar but has been brought forward a week because of a change in other scheduled events.
We look forward to welcoming you to our July one-day retreat, to be led by Michael Joseph. Michael is a long-time student of the Society’s founder and spiritual guide, Venerable Geshe Acharya Thubten Loden.
