Five-week course focusing on karma

Why do we see things the way we do?  Where do our interests, our inclinations and personality come from? Buddhism teaches that every effect depends on a cause.  What underlies our own life story, is the law of cause and effect, or karma.

But this does not mean our life is predetermined. Karma is dynamic and impermanent.  If we change the causes, we experience a different result.  By understanding karma we can shape our own future.

In this five-week segment of our Path to Enlightenment class, taught by Martin Horan, we will go through the detailed explanation of karma in Chapter 11 of  Venerable Geshe Acharya Thubten Loden’s definitive text, Path to Enlightenment in Tibetan Buddhism.

You will learn what karma means, how it works, both in this life and across past and future lives, and how we can use that understanding to shape our future.

Dates Sundays of the 5 weeks – 22, 29 June; 20, 27 July and 3 August  4:00 – 5:30 pm  Each class includes guided meditation.
