Meditation in our daily lives: New introductory series from October

Three-week introductory series: 1.30 pm – 3 pm Sundays 20 October to 3 November

Our new introductory course with Pam Martin is great for anyone who would like to learn how to meditate and use meditation to improve enrich day-to-day living. The three-week course from Sunday 20 Oct will build the basic foundations of meditation to help you relax and focus.

Pam will draw on aspects of Buddhist philosophy and studies, teaching that meditation is a fundamental tool to support and develop all aspects of our lives. This encompasses our care for ourselves, our family and friends, and the wider world.

During the course, you will learn key styles and techniques of meditation and their application to daily living.  We’ll also take a look at some of the strategies that may help when you are having difficulties. There’ll be plenty of time for questions and discussion.

The course teacher, Pam Martin, is a long-time student of the great scholar and spiritual guide, Venerable Geshe Acharya Thubten Loden. The class is based on his text, “Meditations of the Path to Enlightenment”.

Classes are held in our magnificent peaceful Tibetan temple, which is surrounded by beautiful gardens. You are welcome to join any class in the series. There are both chairs and cushions to ensure your comfort.

Each session is from 1.30-3pm followed by afternoon tea and coffee and delicious cakes, with the opportunity to meet other participants and to ask questions informally.

Facility charge is $10 with proceeds supporting the maintenance of the temple and gardens.
