Our two main classes about Buddhist philosophy and meditation are online* on Sundays. During the week there are also Vajrayogini and Yamantaka classes for longer term students – see details below.
At 1.30pm Sundays during the four terms there is an introduction series. A new four-week introduction course commences on Sunday 14 November 2021 at 1.30pm with Venerable Anna Goldstein.
The other Sunday class is the Path to Enlightenment series at 4pm. This class is generally for people who have attended an introduction series, although anyone is welcome. This class will resume on Sunday 14 November at 4pm, concluding for the year on Sunday 28 Nov. Click here for more information.
The graduated path to enlightenment is the basis of both our Sunday classes – based on books by the great scholar and our founder, Venerable Geshe Acharya Thubten Loden. The difference between these two classes is that one is an introduction to the graduated path to enlightenment and Buddhist meditation, and the second at 4pm goes through the graduated path to enlightenment in much more detail.
Each week covers a different topic across the full range of Buddhist topics such as love, compassion, impermanence, karma, bodhichitta, the six perfections such as ethics, generosity, concentration and how to deal with anger and develop patience. Each session includes a talk, one or two guided meditations and an opportunity for questions.

Since the outbreak of COVID in March 2020 attendance at our classes has been by donation. Many people have been very generous and we thank them. However, due to the ongoing nature of the pandemic and the impact on the centre’s ability to cover its operating costs we are re-introducing the session cost of $10 per session, half price if needed. All proceeds support the upkeep of the traditional Tibetan temple and the gardens. To pay for online sessions please link here.
Joining classes in the temple
In non-lockdown periods you can join the classes in the magnificent traditional Tibetan temple at 20 Cookes Road, Yuroke (turn off Mickleham Road), or to join the sessions online via YouTube see below. Afternoon tea will be served in the temple dining room after each class.
If there are changes to on site access, due to COVID situations and changes in Government guidelines, we will inform you as quickly as possible.
Please stay home if you are unwell. Please bring your mask for use indoors and enter using the Vic Govt QR code on arrival. A density limit of one person per 4 sqm applies indoors. More details about our covid safe plan and requirements can be downloaded here.
