Online classes

Please be advised there are no online classes today Sunday 10 May due to Mother’s Day. Introduction and Path to Enlightenment classes resume Sunday 17 May. This continues with the centre’s tradition to allow time for us to commemorate this special day by remembering or connecting with our mothers.

Online introduction series
1.30 – 2.30pm – from Sunday 19 April

Living well in challenging times – Meditation for acceptance, resilience and tranquillity

In this series of eight classes, Jean D’Cruz will explain the different approaches to meditation and the techniques to begin and sustain a regular meditation practice.

You will also learn how to develop greater patience, compassion and resilience and to integrate these into daily life.

Each session includes guided meditations encompassing the various methods of single pointed, analytical and visualisation meditation. This series will draw on Geshe Acharya Thubten Loden’s book ‘Essence of the Path to Enlightenment’.

In these difficult times, these qualities help support and strengthen you.These classes will be held each Sunday from 19 April and will run from 1.30pm to 2.30pm, with time after this for questions.

Students of both the Introduction to Meditation and Path to Enlightenment series need an internet connection and an up-to-date web browser on computer or laptop.

Path to Enlightenment online classes – Sundays 4pm to 5.30pm

Generosity of spirit, pure ethical behaviour, calm patience, joyful exuberance, stable concentration and insightful wisdom. Who can honestly say these qualities wouldn’t improve their life?

After developing bodhicitta – the extraordinary mind of enlightenment, Bodhisattvas then engage in the six perfections to traverse the Path to Enlightenment.

However even for us ordinary folk, meditating on these six transcendent actions brings much personal benefit and helps us along the path.

Tim McKibben will explain the perfection of ethics, as presented in Geshe Acharya Thubten Loden’s masterwork ‘Path to Enlightenment in Tibetan Buddhism’.
