A lively festival planning workshop was held in June, attended by members of the Tibetan Buddhist Society community. The Tibetan New Year Festival, Buddhist Spring Festival and Rose Garden Open Days have been held regularly for many, many years, so it was timely to discuss what has been learnt, and what might be changed or improved.
Hilary Lynch, who chaired the workshop was impressed by the ‘positive energy and sharing of ideas.’
There was broad agreement on several great ideas, which are currently being worked through. One of the main areas of agreement was the need to differentiate the two festivals more, and another idea was to invite a broader range of speakers and teachers. A steady introduction of new features at festivals can be expected. For information about the Buddhist Spring Festival from 10-11 November visit here.
