So far this year, we’ve had visits to the temple from a diverse range of schools and groups as well as visits made to community groups.
Thirty-five senior citizens from Romsey and sixteen people from the Oaktree Retirement Home visited the temple. They attended a talk on Buddhism and meditation in the temple, then had a walk around the garden, which was followed by afternoon tea.
We also had thirty adult students from the Ridley Theological College to learn more about Buddhism and meditation. It was a most interesting discussion.
A total of 80 Year 9 Students from Hume Anglican Grammar also visited, as well as a total of 210 Year 10 students from Sacred Heart College in Kyneton and Emmanual College as part of their study of World Religions.
We went to an International Day of Yoga celebration at the City of Whittlesea to give a talk on Buddhism and meditation to an audience of about one hundred people.
At a “Healthy Body, Healthy Mind” awareness night held at Bunnings at Epping, we gave a talk on meditation and its benefits.
