These courses introduce key Buddhist concepts. Techniques taught in this series include breathing meditation, visualisation and meditative investigation. The courses are based on Geshe Loden’s books, Essence of the Path to Enlightenment and Meditations on
the Path to Enlightenment.
Through the practices of mindfulness and meditation step-by-step we can overcome anxiety and fear, and cultivate states of mind that bring ever-increasing happiness. This series will give you the tools to be able to commence your own mindfulness and meditation practice. It introduces concepts from Buddhist psychology and philosophy, considering the nature of mind, the causes of unhappiness and how to counter them, and the causes of happiness and how to cultivate them.
Classes are held in our beautiful peaceful Tibetan temple from 1.30 to 3 pm on Sundays. You are welcome to come along to any class in the series.
Each session includes guided meditation. The class is followed by tea, coffee and cakes for those who’d like to join us. Facility charge is $10 with proceeds supporting maintenance of the temple and gardens.
