Find your inner state of peace within
For many centuries the Western world has made rapid material progress. In this 21st century increasingly we have learned that material prosperity alone is no guarantee of happiness, contentment or peace. And so we have begun to look inwards – drawing on humanity’s great meditative traditions.
Anyone – whatever their background or culture, and whether they have any particular belief system or not – can learn to meditate. In this course of nine sessions we introduce the basic meditation techniques that are taught in the Buddhist tradition, and explain the accompanying perspectives on mind, change, wellbeing, good heart, happiness and insight. Each session includes meditation, an explanation of the practice and an opportunity for questions, followed by a delicious afternoon tea. By completing this course you will have all the basics to sustain a meditation practice.
All are welcome. You will gain most benefit if you are able to attend all classes in the series, but as each class is self contained it’s also possible to attend on an occasional basis.
The class runs each Sunday from 1.30 to 3pm, followed by afternoon tea. Facility charge is $10.
