Introduction to Buddhism

Sundays 1.30 to 3.00pm

New Introductory Series - starting Sunday 10 July 2010

Learn the fundamental views of Buddhism and Buddhist meditations in this introductory series. People wishing to learn Buddhist meditation practices and to gain an understanding of Tibetan Buddhist approach to life are welcome to attend this course.

This series emphasises the practical steps that can be used by anyone to gain greater insight into their own experiences and to develop positive mental and emotional states. Methods for developing compassionate and ethical attitudes and using these in your relationships are also emphasised.

This series is intended for anyone interested in learning meditation, Buddhist approaches to a happier life and the fundamentals of Buddhist psychology and philosophy.

Recognising that the real meaning in life is found in the states of mind with which you embrace events and people is fundamental to spiritual development. This inner development, dealing with the contents of your mind, is also the way to freedom from suffering. It brings an authentic and lasting sense of peace that is retained irrespective of your external circumstances.
