Inner Peace, Good Heart from 14 to 17 April
‘The best way of looking after ourselves is to develop more peaceful, compassionate and generous minds. This makes us happy and also brings happiness to others.’
Venerable Geshe Acharya Thubten Loden, Founder and Spiritual Leader of the Tibetan Buddhist Society
Our upcoming Easter retreat, Inner Peace, Good Heart, offers a rare opportunity to enjoy a break from a busy life and meditate in the tranquil environment of the Peaceful Land of Joy meditation centre.
This popular four-day retreat focuses on Buddhist meditation methods to help us relax, transform our mind and develop compassion and inner calm.
There are six sessions of guided meditation each day, with talks on how we can meditate to reach the special concentration of calm abiding and the precious mind of bodhichitta.
Michael Joseph, a long time student of Venerable Geshe Acharya Thubten Loden and a regular teacher and director of the Tibetan Buddhist Society, will lead the retreat.
The retreat is suitable for new and experienced meditators. All sessions are held in the spacious and richly decorated traditional Tibetan temple where you can meditate sitting on a cushion on in a chair.
We offer delicious and wholesome home made food and cater for vegetarians and there is plenty of time to wander and unwind in our beautiful 10-acre gardens.
You can live in at the centre or attend the retreat each day.
The Tibetan Buddhist Society’s Peaceful Land of Joy is a friendly, relaxed meditation centre 30 kilometres north of Melbourne’s CBD, 10 minutes’ drive from the Tullamarine Freeway and close to the airport.
