Tibetan Buddhist Society - Sydney Centre

Sydney’s Tibetan Buddhist Society centre has been a part of the Sydney inner west community since 1980 providing evening sessions in Tibetan Buddhist philosophy and meditation each week.

The centre’s activities include: fund-raising events, celebrations of Buddhist festivals and social dinners. Day/weekend retreats are also held at various times throughout the year.

Teachers

The current monks in residence are Geshe Thubten Chöden from Tibet and Venerable Chris Watkins, a Westerner and student for many years who became a fully ordained monk in 1986.
Teachings are also given by Rod Lee and Nancy Carlisle, who are directors of the Centre.

Courses

The courses offered by the Sydney centre are as follows:

Mondays 7.30pm

Path to Enlightenment, Ven. Chris Watkins

Wednesdays 7.30pm

Traditional Buddhist texts taught by Ven. Geshe Chöden, and translated into English.

Thursdays 7.30pm

Path to Enlightenment and Meditation, Rod Lee and Nancy Carlisle
